Gregory Street realignment makes way for new pedestrian plaza in Colorado’s first Gold Rush town
Black Hawk celebrated the next phase of its future with a ribbon-cutting ceremony this morning to open newly-aligned Gregory Street, making way for the planned walking plaza. When complete, the new pedestrian area will create a unique mountain experience in the historic downtown area that is the cradle of Colorado history.
Black Hawk Mayor David D. Spellman, a direct descendant of the first settlers, and invited dignitaries, will cut the ribbon.
