Fundraiser to help disabled children and veterans through equine therapy benefits Therapeutic Riding of Tucson
Therapeutic Riding of Tucson's Horsin' Around event helps pair children and veterans with specially trained horses and volunteers for life-changing therapy
Therapeutic Riding of Tucson (TROT) is holding its annual Horsin' Around gala event on October 14. This event raises money to help disabled children, adults, and veterans increase their quality of life through equine therapy.
Each day the volunteers and staff at TROT see miracles happen through their work with the clients, whether that's a veteran learning skills to manage PTSD or a disabled child hugging someone outside of his or her family for the first time.
Horsin' Around will be at the iconic, 150-year-old Tanque Verde Ranch in the Cottonwood Grove. There will be silent auctions, live auctions, a barbeque dinner and dancing all night long.
The gala is one of the biggest fundraisers of the year for TROT and helps fund therapeutic riding programs for anyone who needs it. Last year more than 200 people attended the gala and helped raise money for TROT's life-changing programs.
TROT helps its clients with skills like improving balance, coordination, motor skills, speech, and communication skills through the use of these incredibly well-trained therapy horses and the amazing volunteers.
Proceeds will go toward programs for disabled clients, and veterans who suffer from PTSD. And don't forget about our four-legged friends! Funds raised will also go toward buying items for the horses like hay and tack.
Tickets are now available for $85 on the TROT website. Dress is casual and boots are always welcome!
