City of Black Hawk and Black Hawk Casinos donate $157,000 to Boulder County wildfire relief

Through their Metropolitan District, Black Hawk casinos matched the City of Black Hawk’s $50,000, along with additional donations from Saratoga Casino of $50,000 and $7,000 from the Wildcard and Sasquatch Casinos for a total donation of $157,000 for wildfire relief.

Mayor David D. Spellman and the Black Hawk City Council approved a $50,000 donation for Boulder County wildfire relief.

The City’s $50,000 donation to the Community Foundation of Boulder County will be matched by the Black Hawk casinos through their Metropolitan District and Saratoga Casino, totaling $100,000. Saratoga Casino donated an additional $50,000 along with another $7,000 from the Wildcard Casino and Sasquatch Casino, totaling $157,000, to the Community Foundation of Boulder County. This well-respected non-profit organization has a proven track record of collecting donations and distributing financial assistance efficiently to people affected by disasters like the Marshall Fire.

“The City of Black Hawk felt compelled to offer some heartfelt assistance to the families that saw the upheaval of their lives due to the catastrophic fire which they suffered. As our fellow Coloradans brave rebuilding their lives, we want them to know the City of Black Hawk stands united with them. There will be much for them to endure in the days ahead, but in true Colorado spirit, we know they will rise to the challenge,” said Mayor Spellman.
